Trustee Profile – Abul Hussain (Chairman)
Abul Hussain, BSc, is a distinguished community leader, sports professional, and charity ambassador with over 25 years of experience in local government. He has been instrumental in designing and delivering programmes that promote youth engagement, health, and stronger communities.
Nationally recognised for his contributions, Abul has been invited to 10 Downing Street to meet then Prime Minister Gordon Brown and had the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch 2012. He has collaborated with Prince Harry on youth sports initiatives, led projects providing free school meals during scholol holidays, and served as an ambassador for national charities – such as Street Games, Kick It Out.
With extensive personal and professional sporting experience, Abul played over 250 football matches at semi-professional level and has worked within professional setups, including West Ham United FC. He is a qualified sports coach and coach educator, training primary school teachers to deliver high-quality physical education.
Abul has founded and supported numerous community organisations and sports clubs across London, helping them secure funding and develop sustainable programmes. He also served as a school governor for five years at an Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ primary school. Abul set up and supported many community organisations and charities.
As Chairman and Trustee, Abul provides strategic leadership, ensuring the charity operates with integrity, accountability, and lasting impact. He is dedicated to empowering young people and strengthening communities across London.
Trustee Profile – Kabir Ahmed (Vice-Chairman)
Kabir Ahmed is a dedicated community volunteer and Vice-President with a lifelong commitment to serving Enfield, where he has lived since 1985. Married with three children, Kabir has been working as a driving instructor since 1996 and has spent nearly 20 years supporting local community initiatives and Masjids.
With extensive experience in mosque management and community engagement, Kabir is passionate about ensuring the smooth daily running of local Masjids, fostering strong relationships with residents, and promoting cohesion within the community. He holds an up-to-date DBS and is committed to providing safe, effective, and inclusive leadership.
Trustee Profile – Muhammad Abdul Kadir Rubel (General Secretary)
My name is Muhammad Abdul Kadir Rubel, and I have been devoted to Islamic teaching for over 25 years. I hold an Islamic Alim degree and currently manage an Islamic school at weekends, where I have the privilege of guiding and educating members of our community. Teaching is not just my profession—it is my passion, and I am committed to helping students grow spiritually, academically, and personally.
I have also served as a masjid committee member locally for five years, holding the roles of Secretary and Treasurer, where I helped oversee the smooth running of the masjid and managed financial and administrative matters responsibly. Currently, I continue to serve as Secretary of the masjid, coordinating activities, supporting worshippers, and ensuring the day-to-day operations run efficiently.
I have completed a Teachers and Leadership Training course, covering topics such as promoting a healthy lifestyle, first aid, class management, preparing informative Khutbahs, understanding the rights and responsibilities of the Ulama, media awareness, and effective teaching methods. This training enables me to provide a well-rounded and supportive environment both at the school and in the masjid.
My aim is to continue serving the community with dedication, patience, and sincerity, helping individuals purify their mind, body, and soul, and supporting the growth and well-being of everyone I have the privilege to teach and interact with.
Trustee Profile – Bokthiar Uddin (Secretary)
I’m Bokthia Uddin, a local businessman and entrepreneur with a strong passion for serving our community. For over 15 years, I have been actively involved in supporting community initiatives, and I have previously had the honour of serving on our local masjid committee. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the strength and warmth of our community when we come together to help one another.
I enjoy meeting people and offering support wherever it is needed. You will usually find me at the masjid, ready to assist with questions, guidance, or simply a friendly conversation. I take pride in my communication skills and in making everyone feel welcome and valued.
I am a qualified first aider and hold an up-to-date DBS certificate, which allows me to provide support safely and responsibly. I also have extensive experience with maintenance work and practical tasks around the masjid, from repairs to general upkeep, ensuring it remains a safe, clean, and welcoming space for all.
Serving our community is not just something I do—it is something I care about deeply. I am committed to continuing to give my time, skills, and energy to help the masjid thrive. I currently serve as Joint Secretary of the masjid, helping to coordinate activities, manage operations, and support its smooth running for the benefit of all worshippers.
Trustee Profile – Rufter Ali (Treasurer)
Rufter Ali is a long-standing member of the local community and a dedicated family man with strong community values. Semi-retired from a long career as a professional cab driver, Rufter brings practical experience, financial awareness, and a deep understanding of community needs to his role as Treasurer.
He has many years of experience in community leadership, including managing and supporting madrasa operations in Bangladesh, where he played an active role in overseeing educational and welfare activities. His background in both community service and business gives him a balanced, responsible approach to financial oversight and organisational accountability.
As Treasurer, Rufter ensures that the charity’s finances are managed transparently and effectively, supporting the wider team in achieving long-term stability and positive community impact. His reliability, integrity, and strong community ties make him a trusted and valued member of the board.
