What the Charity is Set Up to Achieve

Our Charitable Purposes

Ponders End Islamic Centre exists to advance the Islamic faith, relieve poverty, advance education and promote community wellbeing for the benefit of the public, particularly within the London Borough of Enfield and the surrounding areas.

Advancement of Religion

The Centre provides a welcoming place of worship and promotes the teachings and values of Islam based upon the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Through worship, education and community engagement, the Centre seeks to support the spiritual, moral and religious development of individuals and families.

Prevention or Relief of Poverty

The Centre aims to help alleviate hardship by supporting individuals and families experiencing financial or social difficulties. Whilst the Centre does not ordinarily provide food or financial assistance directly, it works to ensure that those in need are signposted to appropriate food banks, charitable organisations, local authority services and other support agencies.

Advancement of Education

The Centre promotes education by providing opportunities for people of all ages to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding. This includes Islamic education, Qur’an classes, Arabic language tuition, youth development programmes and community learning initiatives.
